Message from the Registrar’s Office on Diplomas

To the Graduates of the Loyola Schools and School of Arts and Sciences
(College, Masters, and Ph.D.):

Those who have not yet claimed their diplomas may do so at the Grand Alumni Homecoming on December 6, 2008.

Unclaimed diplomas for batches 2006, 2002, 1998, 1996, 1992, 1991, 1988, 1987, and 1983 will be distributed at rooms 4G and 4H at the Ateneo High School starting at 5pm.

Those who come early will receive a free diploma canister for safekeeping of their diplomas.

Graduates of other batches are also welcome to register at the venue so they may pick up their diplomas at a later convenient date at the Loyola Schools Registrar’s Office.

In answer to queries we have received, we wish to clarify that for
Alumni/alumnae who paid their diploma fees prior to graduation a small P15 charge will cover the cost of documentary stamps. Only alumni/alumnae who did not pay for their diploma fees while still enrolled at the University will have to cover this cost plus documentary stamps when claiming on December 6, 2008.

Brainstorming meeting – 14 June 2008 (update)

brainstorming3

Ten batchmates showed up for our brainstorming meeting held in Ateneo on Saturday, 14 June 2008: Ken Lingan, Mai Ventura, Maii Bernal, Erik Tan, Bok Peralta, Rowie Azada-Palacios, Chep Unson, Mike Palacios, Francis Diaz, and Ali Figueroa.

The group discussed how the batch might be able to achieve three thrusts outlined by Ken for this year: Reconnecting, Fundraising, and Outreach.

Among some of the major plans discussed were:

The incorporation of the ADMU 1998 Foundation. We aim for the batch to be able to elect a board within the next few months.

A pro bono consultancy program. The plan is to match our batch’s talents with the needs of poor communities: e.g., physicians can run health seminars in urban poor communities, bankers can give workshops on financial management to SMEs, and teachers can participate in teacher-training programs. As part of the preparatory steps for this, we aim to beef up our batch database and compile our updated CVs. (You can help start the ball rolling by updating your details here or here.)

Other plans in the works include our fundraising and networking efforts. Come back to this blog for more updates. (Photos by Chep Unson.)
